July 17th August 27th 2006 2005 is the 21st anniversary of NUNO The NUNO company was founded in 1984. Since 1987, as Artistic Director, Reiko Sudo has led the company and steered NUNO to a position of international pre-eminence. Reiko Sudo's visionary combination of complex technologies, traditional techniques and new finishing processes have created extraordinary visual effects that have revolutionised textiles within interiors,fashion and art. Her textiles have visual wit, technical understanding and wild fearlessness. For example: patination on steel fabric created by high-powered naked flame applied directly onto the surface of the cloth. Or rust from deliberately oxidised iron panels transferred onto fabric shining beautifully with rust. There will be a full education programme and book accompanying this exhibition.
